Who's Behind the Notes

About us

Small crew, muddy boots

ClipHopperTicksCN is an independent project run by ClipHopper Field Notes Ltd from Hexham, Northumberland. We're not a clinic, a pest company or a product brand. We're people who spend a lot of time in long grass and got tired of watching friends guess about ticks.

Our job is translation. We read the public-health guidance, check it against field experience, and boil it down to what you can do today.

Editor

Former countryside ranger. Has pulled more ticks off walkers than she can count. Writes the first draft of everything and cuts it in half.

Research & sources

Checks every claim against CDC, NHS, UKHSA and EPA guidance. If it can't be sourced, it doesn't go in.

Lila Brandt

Yard & pets

Gardener and two-spaniel household. Tests every yard tip on her own patch before it goes on the site.

How we work

  • Primary sources first: CDC, NHS, UK Health Security Agency, US EPA, and reference works like the Connecticut Tick Management Handbook.
  • We review pages before each tick season.
  • No sponsored content, no affiliate links, no ads.
  • Corrections fixed fast. Tell us via contact.

What we're not

We aren't doctors or vets. Nothing here is a diagnosis or treatment plan. If you're worried about a bite, a rash or a sick pet, call a professional. In the UK, NHS 111 is a good first stop. Use our notes to get oriented, then act.
