The short version

We run a reading site. No accounts, no ads, no tracking pixels. The contact tool works entirely in your browser. We only get your details if you choose to email us.

What we collect

Emails you send us: your name, address and message, used only to reply.
Server logs: our host records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to keep the site secure and working.
Stored preferences: a consent choice may be saved in your browser's local storage. See Cookie Notes.

Legal basis

We reply to emails under legitimate interests, or your consent where you give it. Server logs are kept under legitimate interests in running a secure site. We don't sell or share personal data for marketing.

How long we keep it

Emails: up to 24 months, then deleted unless an ongoing conversation needs them. Server logs: typically up to 30 days, as set by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, object to processing, and request portability. Email us to make a request. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Third parties and changes

We link to outside sites such as public-health agencies. Their privacy policies apply once you leave. If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
